Butterflies and Moths Author: Corey Brotherson Genre: Drama/Horror
This was the first graphic novel project I took on before I had even graduated from University! It initially had a contract with a publisher before that publisher went under.
The story follows a teenage girl in Birmingham named Angelica who is struggling with her own personal, horrific responsibility. Chapter one is already finished and the other ones are being plotted out.
Bayou Arcana: Irons in the Fire Author: Corey Brotherson Genre: Horror
Irons in the Fire is one of the short stories featured in the Anthology called Bayou Arcana where all of the writers are male and all of the artists are female! The story me and Corey are doing focuses on the inner turmoil of Sam, an escaped slave who is trying to come to terms with his newfound freedom and the responsibilities that weigh him down. Bayou Arcana is being published by Markosia in May this year and can be pre-ordered here: Click Me!
Skal Author: Yours truly. Genre: Fantasy
Skal is completely my own story. It started as a webcomic that I did on the side of real work, but soon became much more serious and I decided to re-paint the entire thing! So far I've finished the prologue to the story and self published it (see the shop for details, or click on the Skal link on the top of this page), but I hope to have chapter 1 done the first part of this year as well. The story itself follows Mushirah, a gifted woman who has lived almost her entire life behind monastery walls, sheltered from the real world outside. When an event sees her first imprisoned, then on the run from the very people she grew up with, her own rigid perception of the world begins to be challenged.
Clockwork Watch: The Arrival Author: Yomi Ayeni Adapted by: Corey Brotherson Genre: Steampunk
This is by far the biggest project I have been involved in to date! Clockwork Watch is a transmedia project around a Steampunk love story set in a version of Victorian London. There will be a lot of different mediums used to tell this story, and I will be doing two comics for it (along with other things like costume designs and environmental designs). The first comic is The Arrival which should be done around February.
The Arrival introduces us to the Ranbirs. A family from India who arrive in London on a very special mission. |
